WHO WE ARE

Entrepreneurship at the core
of our DNA
In 1950, at age 25, Pierre Péladeau borrows $1,500 from his mother Elmire to buy his first newspaper, Le Journal de Rosemont, a small struggling neighbourhood weekly.
After launching Le Journal de Montréal in the preceding year, Pierre Péladeau founds Quebecor and brings all his business ventures together under one roof. Over the years, he achieved his ultimate goal, growing Quebecor into a fully vertically integrated company in its industry and the world’s largest commercial printing company at the dawn of the new millennium.
Following Pierre Péladeau’s death in 1999, the helm of the corporation is passed to his son Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and CEO of Quebecor to this day. Quebecor is a flagship business in Quebec and without a doubt one of the most successful multigenerational family business in Canada. Continuously striving for new opportunities to remain at the cutting-edge of the curve, under Pierre Karl’s management over the past decades, the corporation has brilliantly managed to transition its traditional activities to the new economy and to shift to digital.
Driven by this legacy of innovation and adaptability, in 2021, Quebecor’s corporate venturing identity, asterX, was born.

La culture du possible, our social engagement
